Why were there two races?
In 2009, the race organizers who had put on the Danskin Triathlon in Pleasant Prairie from 2003-2008 left Danskin and started the Trek Triathlon Series. In 2010, they took back the Danskin Triathlon Series and ran both the Trek and Danskin races in 2010 and 2011. In 2012 they merged the two race series back together under the original Danskin name.
Why did the date of the Chicagoland Danskin Triathlon change?
The 2012 Danskin Triathlon in Pleasant Prairie is moving back one week, to August 26, due to a August 19 Danskin race in Seattle. Unfortunately for some intermediate and advanced triathletes, this date conflicts with the Chicago Triathlon, now sponsored by Life Time Fitness.
What about the original Trek Triathlon date in Pleasant Prairie, July 14?
The Xxtra Mile, race owners of the Trek and Danskin Women’s Triathlon Series, may be holding some type of event at the RecPlex in Pleasant Prairie that weekend. However, nothing has been confirmed as of yet.
When does your training start?
In 2012 our Danskin Triathlon Training begins on July 1st.
